Urogynecology
At WHA, our urogynecology team focuses on helping people with pelvic floor problems, such as urinary or fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. There are many treatment options—ranging from physical therapy to medical and surgical interventions. The important thing to know is you can find relief from symptoms that impact your quality of life and we’re here with you until you do. Make an appointment with your primary WHA provider for an initial consultation or call one of the offices listed below to get started.
Welcoming New Patients
Treating pelvic floor dysfunction at WHA may involve an initial assessment done by your regular WHA provider; one of their partners with additional training or expertise in urogynecology; or one of our board-certified female pelvic medicine specialists. We will work with you to find the right person to meet your needs.
Addressing your symptoms and regaining the quality of life you desire (and deserve!) could involve:
- Referrals for physical therapy to better coordinate the muscles of the pelvic floor.
- Recommendations for lifestyle or dietary modifications.
- A vaginal pessary, which is a plastic device inserted into the vagina to help support the pelvic organs.
- Medication to treat urinary incontinence, chronic constipation or diarrhea.
- Office procedures to treat overactive bladder, urgency incontinence and stress incontinence.
- Surgery to support the pelvic floor.
